“LUKELAND”
Many
years ago, David, Ernie and Pete Lucadano knew that the delivery of
good landscape service to their clients depended greatly upon one key
issue: Capabilities. The owners believed that their ability to respond
quickly and skillfully to their customers began with their ability to
prepare their crews and equipment. It was at this point that the entire
management team began constructing plans for a location that would someday
give place to new ideas for efficiency and quality in delivering Green
Industry services.
The
following pictures will illustrate the reality of “Lukeland”
as it begins to come to life. In April of 2002, the company closed on
its purchase of a 21-acre parcel in Holiday, FL. A formerly constructed
water-treatment plant turned educational center, the new Lukeland location
showed great promise to facilitate the creativity and ideas of each
respective Luke Brothers division manager. May of 2002 brought the relocation
of the Luke Brothers main offices, Accounting Department, Landscape
Division, Horticulture Division, Arbor Care Division, Irrigation Division,
and refurbishment staff. February of 2003 will bring the relocation
of the entire Grounds Maintenance Division and Equipment Maintenance
staff to Lukeland, upon the completion of the building expansion and
renovation project.
In
order to bring the full vision of Lukeland to life, necessary additions
were required. These construction efforts included a building expansion,
a recycling operation, and a plant nursery.
BUILDING
EXPANSION

Perhaps
the most under-rated aspect of proper landscape methods for beautiful
lawns is what happens before the crews and equipment arrive at your
property. A secret to the storied success of Luke Brothers Grounds Maintenance
Division is what happens “under the lights” with our rigorous
equipment maintenance program.
The
following photographs show the construction of our cutting-edge, 10,000+
square foot equipment maintenance shop. This shop will house high-tech
welding stations, drop air hoses and innovative equipment lifts to accommodate
our evening equipment maintenance operations. By subjecting our equipment
to a detailed maintenance regimen including daily blade balancing, blade
sharpening, lubrication, cleaning, leak inspection, air filter cleaning
and tire pressure inspections, our skilled maintenance team can provide
well tuned machinery to maintain our client’s landscapes. The
addition of this new shop will further enhance our efforts to provide
an even better finished product to our client.

RECYCLING
OPERATION

As
veterans in the Green Industry, Luke Brothers realizes that we cherish
the land that grows our plants and trees. This is why it has been a
20-year goal of our company to develop our own organic material recycling
center. Thanks to the hard work of our entire management team, our new,
state-of-the-art facility offers the capability of on-site recycling
center.
The
following pictures illustrate how the properly constructed organic material
areas are taking shape. The recessed area will provide a temporary home
for the shrub clippings and tree chippings generated from the maintenance
of the properties of our valued clients. In these specialty areas, the
plant material clippings will be turned periodically, so that they will
eventually provide an excellent source of nutrition as a soil supplement
for new landscapes and potted plants. We are proud to be an active part
of giving back to our environment by simply doing our part.

As
a landscape installer, Luke Brothers has learned that planting healthy
and vibrant plants ensure the best results when providing enhancements
to our client’s properties. In an effort to gain better control
of the health and appearance of the plants that we offer our customers,
our Landscape Division has begun the operation of our own plant nursery.
The
following photographs show how our nursery is taking shape. Through
affectionate care and specialized methods, our Luke Brothers landscape
nursery staff hopes to provide beautiful plant material for the enjoyment
of our clients to use on both new and renovated landscapes.
